The success of any organization will be determined by the quality of its leaders. And leadership in most organizations starts with the Board of Directors. That’s why good board governance matters. Join us for our next Community Connections meeting on April 13 at 9:00AM as John Allen, Executive Director of Huntsville’s Committee of 100, shares his thoughts on good board governance. The Committee of 100 offers board training to the community and we are fortunate to have John as our presenter.
This past year has helped all of us discover the importance of having a clear sense of mission and a consciousness of our roles and responsibilities in helping meet client needs. In the middle of the COVID crisis, Boards found themselves asking hard questions and not knowing the answers.
As we emerge into a new normal, it is time to take a new look at the importance of good board governance. Every board member needs to become reacquainted with their governance responsibilities and actively participate in guiding the organization to achieve stated objectives. Similarly, Executive Directors need to look at board-staff partnerships and how to lead effectively with a shared vision.
Please invite your board members to participate with us on April 13 for a discussion of what good board governance looks like, how boards and staff can work together, and how our community can grow great boards.
Because great boards build great communities.
