Cathy joins ELM from a wonderful community organization called JustServe, where she is the Assistant Director of Public Affairs. She was born in New York, grew up in California, raised her family in Utah, and then moved to Madison 10 years ago when Jacobs brought her husband, Dave Larsen, out to work with NASA in Solid Rocket Motor Design. Cathy attended Brigham Young University, where she toured for two years with the International Folk Dance Ensemble to Hawaii, Japan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China, and Korea. She finds the most joy in her life with her family, where she is the mother of 6 and grandmother of 10, and also through giving service to others. Cub Scouts, church youth and women’s groups, and school and community organizations have all been the recipient of her devotion and time over the years. Cathy has many passions and hobbies, topped off with one great talent. If there were a gold medal for precise popcorn kernel pitching, she would take the prize. Since there isn’t, for now she has to settle for her novice status while she loves on her grandbabies, enjoys snow machining, sewing, mentoring youth, roller coaster riding, compiling family history, and being in nature.
