As we approach the Fourth of July, we are reminded of the profound significance this day holds in our nation's history. It marks the birth of a country founded on the ideals of liberty, self-governance, and the unwavering belief in the inherent dignity of every individual.

This Independence Day, we honor not only the freedoms we cherish but also the responsibilities that accompany them. Accountability stands as a cornerstone of our democracy, prompting us to uphold the principles upon which our country was built—equality, justice, and opportunity for every citizen of our nation.

As we gather with loved ones to celebrate, let us reflect on the true essence of freedom. It is not just the absence of restriction, but the presence of opportunity to pursue our aspirations and contribute meaningfully to our communities. We must recognize that systemic dependency can and will hinder this pursuit. At The ELM Foundation, we are committed to fostering environments that promote personal strength and self-reliance.

In addressing the challenges our nation faces, we can find strength in our shared determination. Together, we can work to create a society where every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity and desire to thrive.
